As promised in the previous post, today I have a tip for you that is of real, practical use.
Management summary: Ctrl + Shift + S overrules all conditional show expressions making every hidden sheet and sheet object visible.
Full story: Condtional show expressions are used in QlikView to show or hide a sheet or sheet object depending on if a predefined condition has been met. While this is extremely useful functionality to make your applications more user-friendly, it can be a real hassle during development.
If you want to edit a sheet or object when its show condition has not been met, you either have to make a selection that matches the condition, or you have to dig deep into the menu (Settings | Document Properties | Security | Show All Sheets and Objects) to disable, and when you’re done re-enable, conditional display. We all have better things to do with our time, for example reading blog posts that are way longer than they need to be.
Fortunately, in QlikView Desktop (‘classic’ view, not WebView) there is a shortcut: Ctrl + Shift + S overrules all conditional show expressions making every hidden sheet and sheet object visible. Now you know.

Good tip Barry. I would like to add one more things. Remember sometimes there will be setting enabled in Document properties> General> Hide Tabrow !. In order to see all the sheet just deslect it and you should be able to see all the sheets
Good post Barry. This will spare me some time.
I cant find the option you mentioned Pauljin. Are you sure its in document properties?
Tjeerd, Hide Tabrow can be found on the General tab of the Document Properties, it’s a checkbox in the right column, 5th item from the top.
All this checkbox does is hide or show the tabrow. Tabs for sheets that are conditionally hidden will still not be shown. For that you need to check “Show All Sheets and Objects” on the security tab, and uncheck it when you’re done. Ctrl + Shift + S is much faster 😉
Good tip Barry.
A caution about Ctl-Shift-s. It toggles the property
(Settings | Document Properties | Security | Show All Sheets and Objects)
to on. If you forget to reverse it with another Ctl-Shift-s you have given Server users the power to use Ctl-Shift-s as well.

Hi Rob,
Yes, it’s a good idea to enable conditional showing after you’re done. It should be pretty easy to remember though, as all conditional objects are visible to anyone when it’s enabled. I’ve added it to my pre-production checklist just to be sure.
Cheers,
Barry
Nice tip Barry and thanks Rob for pointing this out.
At the first time I wondered why nothing was happen after I hit Ctrl-Shift-s but than I remebered 😉
I prefer to work without condinional viewing on layout objects which can end into a hassle or confusion. I use condinional viewing only for chart dimensions and expressions in QV 11.

I want to hide a sheet in QlikView?
You can’t do that
and tons of conditional expressions and dimensions on one chart is shi’ite
